I hate papercuts

This post brought to you by New-Skin. All opinions are 100% mine.

product-family.png (2 documents, 2 total pages)I am a huge scrapbooker! I love nothing more than diving in to my craft table and mixing   stickers, cardstock and beautiful pictures of my family in to works of art! The only thing I do not like about scrapbooking is papercuts and I get a lot of those.

I went to a large scrapbook party last week at a local craft store and learned a ton. My seat was inbetween two ladies that had been scrapbooking for longer than I have been alive. Half way into the craft page they were teaching us to do- I slashed my thumb open. Blood everywhere. I got up and ran to the bathroom to clean it up, but it would not stop bleeding.

So I went back to my seat and sadly began to pack up all of my stuff. The lady next to me told me to wait a second, reached into her bag and pulled out a small bottle, with a brush- handed it to me and said "Try this!"

The small bottle was New-Skin® Liquid Bandage. I brushed it on to my cut and it dried super fast. The back of the bottle said that it forms a tough protective cover that is antiseptic, flexible, waterproof, and lets skin breathe. I brushed a single layer on my cut and sure enough it stopped bleeding and actually stopped stinging too! (Maybe it was the antiseptic?)

I gave it back to the lady- and she told me to keep it! I keep it with all my craft supplies now- it is my papercut rescurer!

Taste Test: Carapelli Olive Oil

This post brought to you by Carapelli. All opinions are 100% mine.

carapelli-1When you use olive oil you should only use the best! Right outside the beautiful city of Florence since 1893, Carapelli Olive Oil. currently the rain as Italy's number one extra-virgin olive oil company. They believe that whenever you think that about Tuscany and olive oil their company should come to mind, and let me tell you after trying it for myself. I think it's the only olive oil ever use again.

Carapelli Olive Oil has a super strict quality certification program that exceeds the extensive, strict quality specifications required in Europe and the United States, that it adheres to today.

Carapelli's olive oil is made solely from the first cold pressing of the finest 100% Italian olives. Plus it is organic!

I'll be really honest and let you know that I've never tasted all Olive Oil. So this was a brand-new thing for me. When tasting olive oil you must follow the Four S’s. It is kind of like tasting wine.

-First pour about a tablespoon of olive oil into a blue glass and gently warm it by covering the glass with one hand and holding the bowl of the glass in the other.

Here’s where the four S’s come in – Swirl, Sniff, Slurp and Swallow

1. Swirl – By swirling the olive oil in your glass, you release the oil’s esters, which are the molecules that contain the aroma.
2. Sniff – Now inhale deeply. The aroma is the key to the fruitiness of the oil. Is it intense or is it more subtle?
3. Slurp – Sip the oil while “sipping” in a bit of air. This slurping action emulsifies the oil and helps spread it throughout your mouth. Take note of the various tastes and sensations. Is it fruity, peppery, smooth?
4. Swallow – Once you swallow the oil, it should leave your mouth with no aftertaste. Again, take note of any peppery or stinging sensation in your throat.

I was honestly petrified to take the first sip. I cook with olive oil a lot, but I've never tasted it just as olive oil. it didn't smell like anything abnormal to me and tasted a bit tart when it was in my mouth but the second I swallowed it the taste was completely gone.

If you would like to have a taste test of your own you can get a $1.00 OFF coupon at www.CarapelliUSA.com and get your own olive oil.
